What is the Process?
Hi Families! We are so glad you made it here. The steps on this page will walk you through getting help for you and your child. Hopefully we are your perfect fit, but even if we aren’t, please reach out. We are glad to talk to you and help connect you with the resources you need.
Step Four- We are almost there
Payment sources
After each evaluation, our office handles sending it to the physician for signature and then to the insurance for payment authorization. Currently we are in network with Cook Children’s Health Plan, Aetna Better Health, and TMHP Medicaid. But we are growing…look for additional insurances soon!
Step two- Let's Call Your Doctor
Talking with your doctor is an important first step! But When Kids Play is happy to help anytime you need assistance! Your doctor can fax us a referral directly or we can send a form to them!
Step Five- Let's Play!
Your therapist will be in contact with you to let you know you are ready to start therapy! You and your therapist will begin your amazing journey… Find the best time and place that fits both you and your clinician and get playing!
Step Three- Hello!
Evaluation
Our therapists are so excited to get to know you and your child in person! The first visit for your child will be a therapy evaluation where you and your child get to meet your new therapist! We make the paperwork process easy for everyone by completing it all before the face to face evaluation.

What home based looks like
Our therapy is Home Based which includes: Your home, day care or even the community.
Regular attendance in therapy is important for your child's progress. We encourage you to be a part of therapy and to use strategies and home programs between therapy visits.

WKP is licensed throughout all of Texas, but has focused our insurance network in DFW so far. Our services are where you live, so we are not restricted to areas near our office. We come to you, at your home, daycare, private schools, or even meet you at a nearby park. No matter where you live, we are happy to work to match you with an amazing therapist that is a good fit for your family.
School Services?
As a home health agency When Kids Play offers medical services that are separate from your child’s education.
For better understanding and additional details regarding school based therapy under IDEA and medical based therapy services offered by When Kids Play, please reach out to us! We are happy to walk you through this!
When Kids Play, as a therapy company, does also contract with a limited amount of school districts to provide educational services. If your school district or Charter School is needing therapists, please let us know!
