Leilani’s love for kids drew her to pediatric therapy and a desire to serve more in a community that is mostly underserved.

In 2013 she met her crazy, passionate, entrepreneurial husband Shane.

With the magic of someone who supported her dream of bringing a new type of therapy agency into reality, their love story formed When Kids Play!

At a time when state licensing had stopped...

...it took two years of perseverance to get the business started.  Undeterred, Leilani was the first therapist and often worked pro bono while learning ins and outs of running a home health agency. This labor of love grew with each therapist that joined our mission with a commitment to bring the best therapy to our clients.

When Shane and Leilani collaborate, the synergy of their combined effort, skills, and interactions create a result superior to what they could achieve separately.  With Shane’s background in sales, marketing, and leadership and having built successful companies combined with Leilani’s career as an OT with advanced education and a true love of her profession, the two have partnered to create When Kids Play and to build it truly better!

The future visions of these two founders include publishing Leilani’s first book to help the world understand the importance of outdoor play.
WKP is helping parents to understand how to help their children through:
